April is poetry month & the start of my tweet poetry project. I will be posting short poems & poetic fragments for a later building project. If you don’t have twitter you can follow my progress daily on this blog where I will also post my “tweet poems”. For those of you who don’t know twitter (and I don’t know it well myself), the program only lets you use 140 characters in the message you’re sending out. That’s 140 characters including spaces. My challenge is to sketch small pieces of poetry and poem fragments in this 140 character space.
Maybe it’s fitting that this is all about twitter and tweet since birds figure prominently in my work. Metaphorically they have to do with voice, expression and freedom. This piece I did some years ago tells the story for me. It’s called “desire” and it’s something I feed when I create through writing or art making.
Tomorrow the words flow in contained spaces.
