Almost Ready

in-productionIn my hand – the Sooke  Writers’  Collective Anthology.  I’m holding the proof.  The interior “passed” and we altered the back cover and it is now at the printers. Tentatively it will be ready for the end of next week with plenty of time to plan our launch at the Sooke Rotary Fair on May 3rd (other venues to be announced).

Currently, the Collective is a group of eight writers from the Sooke area. They are an eclectic bunch – writers of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, memoirs, poetry – with a lot of “etcetera”.   We thrive on the exchange of ideas, feedback to strengthen our writing and brainstorming ideas for publishing and being published.  Visit the website at www.sookewriters.com

In my own writing I have been focusing on poetry. I’ve started some new pieces and revived/rewritten some pieces that have been waiting for my return. Five of my poems appear in the anthology and I am working towards a collection to be published.

In my art making I have slowed to blankness. A visit to an art store the other day stocked me up on paper and some encaustic supplies but my focus is slowly turning to copper and I will be doing some experimental etching over the next few weeks.
